VP of Engineering

WhoAPI is looking to hire a senior PHP or Python developer with extensive experience in Linux systems and MySQL databases. If you are looking to apply, you should have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position, and projects that had massive usage. Any experience you might have from working in a hosting, SEO or domain name industry is a plus. You can probably setup a new cloud-instance at the same time while setting up a Linux machine, after a 12 hour work shift, because you forgot to sleep, or similar.

Money shouldn't be your prime motivator joining WhoAPI. Just as Mark Cuban says: "If it matters how much you get paid, you are not in a job you really love". It should be working on something new that only a few companies in the world are doing, and you can be in the front row. Working with companies like Twitter, Wikipedia, Sendgrid, King, and awesome investors like 500 Startups. WhoAPI gets millions of queries per day, it's a distributed system with servers around the world, and only someone with a lot of grit and intelligence can improve such a powerful system. If you don't understand or disagree with this, that's OK, this position is not for everyone. It's for one of the crazy ones.
