WhoAPI’s why

It was Monday morning, 6:00 am. I started listening Simon Sinek’s book “Start with why” where I have left off the day before. On my way to work I continued to do so, when it struck me. Why are we doing business? Why do we do, what we do? Why do we get up early, stay up late? Why do go for a 4 hour drive on a Sunday to attend a hackathon? Why do we work tirelessly, and endure extreme stress? What inspires us?

Although me and Edi, the other cofounder, are now entrepreneurs with several years of experience, WhoAPI is still at a very young stage and thus very fragile. In the very core, both Edi and I know that money is not our motivation. On many occasions through the last few years we turned down job offers so we could pursue our happiness. Lately we brainstormed on a few occasions to set big goals in front ourselves, and tried to visualize them as best as we could. Although this goals are altruistic and consider the well being of people that surround us, and people in our region, we are a global startup and this cannot work with our clients and partners from Silicon Valley, London, Berlin or Bangalore. So what is really our passion, I was thinking to myself driving to the office?

Off course we were inspired by Steve Jobs, and his mantra to challenge the status quo, to think differently. We were out to change the world, and we are! But since we are different, we can’t go around telling people that they will change the world if they use our service, that’s not what we do. Although, truth be told, you will probably have that state of mind.

WhoAPI is here to help startups and companies make Internet awesome.

WhoAPI is here to help startups and companies make Internet awesome.

Ever since our second startup, a web development and hosting company GEM Studio, we dreamed about innovating and becoming investors. We dreamed about helping young people who have the guts to start something on their own, against all odds. We dreamed about starting new ventures, and lead people, show them the true path to happiness.

It seemed like we always knew, but now we are certain and it’s out in the open. It took me just a few minutes and than it clicked! We are here to help people become entrepreneurs, to help them start something wonderful and survive the difficult phase like we did. We are here to empower people, and help them make more money whether it’s an old business, a pivot or a new venture. We are here to help them change the world and the Internet for the better. If you win, we win!

What we love most about our company is that every team member loves what he does. There’s an old Chinese saying, if you do what you love, you won’t work a single day in your life. When you do what you love, you inspire other people to do what they love. The most fun part is thinking up new functions, apps and other advanced innovative technology to do that. Currently most of this is still unpublished and it will be in a form of a extremely powerful API that helps you get information about millions and millions of domains and web sites. So, if you are passionate about the Internet, stick around we are about to have some fun. :)

I totally agree with you! Everything in the life, including but not limited to your entrepreneur goals is about pursuit of the happiness. Without dream you are nothing. Just a bug in this world trying to go from point A to B and we all know what this world is doing with bugs. We squash ‘em.
